Using New, Patent-pending Technologies
The PureAir S utilizes new, patent-pending technologies that are different from anything else available on the market. Additions to the unit include a control board and pressure sensor on the front, a UVA sensor on the back, and pressure probes on either side. Since the system is communicating, it knows the current fan speed of the indoor unit. Upon start-up, the system will calibrate by ramping the fan to certain speeds and measuring the static pressure on either side of the filter to set a baseline.
Over time, as particulates are captured in the filter, the system will monitor the increasing pressure drop to report the percentage of filter life remaining. Unlike the typical calendar or runtime-based approaches, PureAir S is measuring filter life based on actual performance, and, since the measurement is being done right across the filter, it won’t be impacted by any other aspects of the duct system.
The life of the UVA light is more predictable since it’s not impacted by environmental factors in the home like smokers and pets. For the purifier (UVA light and catalyst) life, we’re measuring a year’s worth of time that the light is on. Additionally, dealers will now receive alerts if something goes wrong with the system, such as if the light becomes disconnected.
